BILL GATES
American software developer, business magnate, and philanthropist Bill Gates is the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation. Among the positions he held included chairman, chief software architect, chief executive officer, and president. Gates was the biggest shareholder until May 2014, and he is considered as one of the best entrepreneurs of the microcomputer revolution in the 1970s and 1980s.
Together with his childhood friend, Paul Allen, Gates co-founded Microsoft in 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which became the world’s largest personal computer software company. In 2008, the computer software erudite transitioned to a part-time role in Microsoft to focus full-time in his private charitable foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, along with his former wife, Melinda French. Gates has been included in the Forbes magazine list of wealthiest people in the world. With hundreds of billions of dollars in net worth, it’s unsurprising that Gates has a massive collection of cars. One of them is a Porsche 959, which he bought brand new in the 1980s. It’s fitted with a sequential twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-six engine that produces a power output of 444 horsepower with 369 pound-foot of torque that can reach a maximum speed of 319 km/h—certainly, this has premium car insurance.
